Zhane Quitara scored a 6-1, 6-4 stunner over reigning MVP Macy Gonzales in the third singles as the Lady Maroons forged a 2-2 standoff.
UST banked on April Santos and Len-Len Santos to win the opening doubles while Lenelyn Milo came through in the second singles.
Sarah Lim put UP on the board after hacking out a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Zaza Paulino in the opening singles.
The Tigresses improved to 3-1 behind the Lady Archers’ league-leading 4-0 mark while the Lady Maroons absorbed their second setback in four stints.
Led by singles players Eren Penaros and Aziel Manantan, NU crashed into the win column after edging Ateneo’s duo of Kim Uytico and Junnalyn, 3-2.
The Bulldogs pulled off a five-game sweep in men’s play after blanking titleholder Green Archers, 5-0.
Meanwhile, Ateneo streaked to its seventh straight win in baseball after beating La Salle, 9-7, at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.
The Blue Eagles’ 7-0 start is their best ever in the sport.
With La Salle’s loss, UST moved in second place with a 4-1 record after it scored a 5-0 rout of Ateneo. DLSU finished in third spot with a 3-2 card.
Other baseball results saw UST zooming to 13 runs in the seventh inning for a 16-5 win over Adamson while reigning champion NU outlasted UP, 12-10.
The Growling Tigers and the Bulldogs hiked their records to 5-2.
In softball, defending champion Adamson whipped La Salle, 15-0, on Saturday to extend its unbeaten run to nine games. UP stunned NU, 5-2, while Ateneo blasted UE, 5-0.
