Motocross races kick off Namssa season
THE 2013 Philippine motorcycle-racing season gets going on Feb. 10 with the opening round of the National Motorcycle Sports and Safety Association’s (Namssa) National Motocross Development Program at Speedworld MX Circuit in Parañaque.
Over 100 entries will vie in 15 championship categories. Registration opens at 7 a.m. followed by the practice sessions and riders’ briefing. The official races will be from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The races will be a tune-up event for Namssa riders competing in the 2013 FIM Asia Motocross Supercross Championship, a continental championship to be hosted by Mayor Edward Hagedorn in Puerto Princesa City on March 21 to 24.
Article continues after this advertisementOn Feb. 17, it will be the on-road motorcycle racers’ turn to take centerstage in the Repsol Road Racing Championship (National Street Race Development Program) in Parang, Marikina.
The Namssa-sanctioned event is being organized and promoted by Sonicboom Motorsports and supported by the local branches of the Japanese motorcycle manufacturers and local motorcycle clubs.
