MANILA, Philippines — Ceres FC completed its “Cinderella’ run in the PFF Smart Club championship with a 1-0 title clincher over Pasargad Saturday night at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Byeong Jun Yoon scored the lone goal in the 56th minute for the Bacolod-based squad, who toppled down powerhouse United Football League (UFL) squads to get to the top.
Meanwhile, Kaya FC blanked Green Archers Globe, 2-0, in the battle for third place.
National team mainstay Chieffy Caligdong, who scored four goals in the tournament for the fourth placers, was awarded the Golden Boot award.
