MANILA, Philippines – San Miguel Corporation sports director Noli Eala made its three star players available to the national team.
Eala offered Petron Blaze’s center June Mar Fajardo, San Mig Coffee’s dynamic forward Marc Pingris and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel’s LA Tenorio to the Smart Gilas Pilipinas should Gilas opts for their services in the coming Fiba Asia Championship this August.
“Junmar, LA and Ping are also available to Gilas if they want them. Wish Gilas all the best,” Eala posted on his twitter account.
Eala also aired SMC’s suggestion to postpone the PBA Governors’ Cup in lieu of the national team’s preparations for its biggest test yet.
“Fate of 3rd conf[erence] still up in the air. SMC position is to postpone it [‘]til after Fiba Asia in order to give Gilas ample time to prepare,” he said in his twitter post.
“However, we w[ou]ld like to amend 2nd conf[erence] format to mirror 1st conf[erence]. So, longer elims [in] semis to max exposure. [Still] enough time for Gilas.”
