The Soaring Falcons glided past the Golden Spikers, 25-22, 25-21, 25-19, at the Arena in San Juan.
Ron Jay Galang, Rodolfo Jardin and Armando Maleon obliterated UST’s clumsy reception with timely hits from different sides of the floor.
Galang had a game-high 16 points, Jardin tallied 14 points and Maleon chipped in 11 points, most of which came in the third set.
Adamson zoomed to a 13-7 lead in the third set after back-to-back hits by Galang.
UST pulled to within three, 17-20, on Salvador Depante’s tip but the lack of consistency on the Tigers’ play allowed the Falcons to pull away anew, 23-18.
Romnick Rico’s attempt went out that put Adamson at match point, 24-18, before Galang clinched his team’s seventh win in 12 games to claim solo third place.
The Tigers fell to fifth at 6-6 behind fourth-place De La Salle with a 6-5 record.
Mark Alfafara, Depante and Rico were all held to just nine points each.
UST led 16-15 in the second set before allowing Adamson to take control with Jardin and Galang anchoring the charge.
