MANILA, Philippines — Injury claimed another victim in Petron Blaze on Friday night in only the opening game day of the 2013 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

Swingman Chris Lutz is expected to be sidelined for six weeks with a fractured rib, adding to the Boosters’ nagging injury woes.

Lutz only played three minutes in Petron’s 92-94 loss to GlobalPort, and had to be taken out of the game immediately.

“Chris Lutz has a fracture of [the] 11th rib. Hoping for Chris’ recovery,” said SMC Sports Director Noli Eala on his Twitter account.

“Fractured rib will sideline him for six weeks according to Dr. Canlas,” added Eala.

Lutz adds to the list of Petron’s key guys sidelined by injuries like Marcio Lassiter and veteran Danny Ildefonso, who has been in and out for months due to an ailing shoulder.

The Boosters face San Mig Coffee, the team which eliminated them in the PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals, next on February 13.
