MANILA, Philippines – Just when the game appeared to be ending in a draw, Janrick Soriano came through to lift Kaya FC over Green Archers United 2-1 Tuesday night in the United Football League at the Emperador Stadium in McKinley Hill, Taguig.
Soriano struck the winning goal in stoppage time as Kaya rebounded from a 0-1 loss to Pachanga Diliman in its previous game to earn three points.
Meanwhile, Loyola Meralco edged Pachanga Diliman, 1-0, on a first-half goal by Freddy Gonzalez.
Gonzalez came up with the lone goal of the match in the 22nd minute as the Sparks grab the lead in the standings with six points.
OJ Porteria, who provided the stunning goal to push the Philippine Azkals past Myanmar in a friendly match, opened up the scoring for Kaya in the 27th minute before Tating Pasilan equalized for the Archers.
