MANILA, Philippines—Stallion Sta. Lucia peppered Pasargad with goals in the second half for a 4-0 win late Thursday in the United Football League at the Emperador Stadium in Taguig.
Spanish striker Rufo Sanchez and substitute Daniel Matsunaga tripled Stallion’s lead in the second half en route to the top spot.
Breaking the 0-0 standoff at halftime starting with a penalty kick from Korean Kim Hyo II in the 48th minute, Stallion also capped a win with another penalty kick.
Meanwhile, Global FC nipped Nomads FC, 2-1, for its second straight triumph.
An own goal from Nomads helped defending titlist Global take the lead for good in the second half.
Izzo El Habbib opened scoring for Global in the fifth minute but Fidelis Nbabuife pulled a goal back for the Nomads in the 45th.
