MANILA, Philippines—Don’t be surprised to see an even taller National University squad in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament next season.
“Maybe you can expect a taller NU next year. Kapag nakuha ko yung gusto ko, siguro mga pito hanggang walong players nasa 5-9 pataas,” NU head coach Francis Vicente told INQUIRER.net. “Basta ang makikita mo na lang na maliit baka yung libero. That’s my goal.”
Vicente added that ‘some have already committed’ to suiting up for NU, which yielded to defending champion De La Salle in its first-ever Final Four trip last Saturday.
The Lady Bulldogs only have one major player graduating in Cai Nepomuceno but her loss will most likely be not much of a factor with the arrival of six-foot-four Jaja Santiago, younger sister of Dindin, who is expected to play next year.
