Global blanks Army, vaults to solo lead
Playing with plenty of pace and fluidity, Global notched the most lopsided win of the United Football League season so far, whipping Army, 6-0, last night to claim the solo lead at Emperador Stadium in Taguig.
Defender Jeffrey Christiaens scored twice, while four others found the back of the net in Global’s thorough domination of the Armed Forces side, which absorbed its third straight loss.
Right winger Misagh Bahadoran scored a volley in the first half, after a composed finish from Ben Starosta, putting Global 2-0 up at halftime.

The deadlock was broken after 26 minutes when rightback Jerry Barbaso darted on to the endline, before finding Starosta down the middle. The former Polish Under-19 standout controlled the ball, before firing past Ed Sacapano.
