Castilo eyes breakthrough in PBaRS singles
MANILA—Top seed Gelita Castilo sets her sights anew on the Open singles division crown of the MVP Sports Foundation-Bingo Bonanza Philippine Badminton Ranking System (PBaRS) tournament which unfurls its third leg on July 30 at the Wheels and More badminton courts in Davao City.
Despite previous losses to Bianca Carlos and Malvinne Alcala, Castilo gained the top seeding with 10,200 points based on the new ranking system. Carlos is in second with 9,252 and Danica Bolos is third with 8,244.
Antonino Gadi will also eye a third straight crown in the Open men’s singles.

Alcala, the country’s top female shuttler, is fifth with 6,000. She skipped the first leg due to a tournament abroad and will not be around anew for the third leg to resume her training in Malaysia.
