Baguio continues to pace Alaska
MANILA, Philippines — Alaska’s unbeaten start has Cyrus Baguio’s name written all over it.
Baguio’s all-around effort night in and night out in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup has led the Aces to a league-best 5-0 record.

“Again I’m so proud of how he plays both sides of the court. He has proven he can excel in the halfcourt game for us and play good defense at the same time,” Trillo added.
The former University of Santo Tomas star collected 17 points, three rebounds and three assists in Alaska’s 92-69 win over Talk ‘N Text last Friday.

So far, Baguio, who was named the PBA Press Corps Player of the Week (February 25 to March 3) for the second time this conference, is averaging 12.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.6 steals and a block per game.
The Aces’ rout of the Tropang Texters also redeemed Baguio after his poor performance in Game 6 of the semifinals where TNT sealed the series.
More challenges await the flashy guard with Alaska facing San Mig Coffee and streaking Petron Blaze in a back-to-back.
Trillo knows Baguio will have his hands full at the defensive end against James Yap, PJ Simon and Ronald Tubid to name a few.
But the way Baguio has been playing, perhaps it will be the other way around.
