ABL: San Miguel slips past Indonesia

MANILA, Philippines—San Miguel rolled to its third straight win, and stopped reigning titlist Indonesia on its tracks, 57-52, on the road Friday night in the 4th Asean Basketball League at the Tennis Indoor Senayan, in Jakarta.

Star guard Chris Banchero carried the cudgels for the Beermen with 19 points, along with four rebounds, an assist and two steals, while the returning Brian Williams added 11 points and eight boards.

JR Cawaling added 16 while Jeric Fortuna scored five points in his debut with San Miguel, which snapped Indonesia’s seven-game win streak.

The Beermen played sans Erik Menk and import Gabe Freeman, who was sidelined with a strained medial collateral ligament (MCL).

Chris Daniels recorded a double-double with 16 points and 16 rebounds for the Warriors, who remain at top spot with a 7-3 card.
