PBA D-League: Jimbo Aquino leads EA Regens rout of Hog’s Breath

MANILA, Philippines—EA Medical Group clobbered fellow newcomer Hog’s Breath Cafe, 83-58, Thursday in the 2013 PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Jimbo Aquino scored 23 points while Ian Sanggalang had 12 for the Regens, who took a 45-35 lead at halftime then coasted the rest of the way for their opening game victory.

Coach Allan Trinidad, who took over the coaching reins this game in the absence of head coach Vergel Meneses, believes the squad still needs work.

“We had a good start. Our defense clicked. But we still have to work on with our offense. It’s still rusty,” said Trinidad.

Two freethrows from Sangalang, who moved to EA after getting released by NLEX, set the final score and the biggest lead of the game.

Hog’s Breath Cafe, after a stunning win over Big Chill last Tuesday 69-63, dropped to 1-2.

Only Kevin Racal finished in double digits with 19 points — which went along with 12 rebounds and seven assists — but the rest of the squad was held below nine points.
