Rivera, Posadas make World Cup cut
BIBOY RIVERA bounced back from a letdown, collecting 3492 pinfalls in the final six games of the elimination phase to finish sixth in the 24-man cut of the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in Toulon, France.
Rivera accumulated pinfalls of 246, 168, 225, 238, 205, and 236 in the third qualifying block to stay 218 pins behind American John Szczerbinski, who dominated the elimination round.
Apple Posadas, on the other hand, failed to build on her previous performance and fell a spot back in the women’s side of the competition.
Posadas, who climbed to No. 4 the day before, dropped to fifth after scoring 199, 232, 245, 167, and 221. She is currently trailing women’s division leader Gye Min-Young of South Korea by 156 points.
The scores of the elimination round will be carried over to the next phase.
