Caguioa, Yap headline PBA All-Stars squad against Smart Gilas Pilipinas

MANILA, Philippines – A tough and talented PBA All-Stars roster is set to face the Philippine men’s national team in the league’s annual All-Star week set in the first week of May at Digos City, Davao del Sur.

Stars James Yap of San Mig Coffee and Mark Caguioa of Ginebra headline the All-Star selection which tangles with Smart Gilas Pilipinas, also as part of the latter’s build up for Fiba Asia Championships in August.

The line up also includes Petron’s Arwind Santos, Alex Cabagnot, Marcio Lassiter and Jay Washington, with Rain or Shine’s Beau Belga, Alaska’s Cyrus Baguio and JV Casio, Air21’s Nino Canaleta along with rookies Calvin Abueva of the Aces and Chris Ellis of the Kings.

Fans will also be treated to a PBA Stalwarts versus Greats clash featuring stars from then and now.

Legends Vince Hizon, Noli Locsin, Jerry Codinera, Rodney Santos, Bong Hawkins, John Edel Cardel team up with Dondon Hontiveros (Alaska), Mark Cardona (Meralco), Mike Cortez (Air21), Josh Urbiztondo (Barako Bull), Peter June Simon and Joe Devance (San Mig Coffee) in the Greats side.

Meanwhile, Benjie Paras, Topex Robinson, Glenn Capacio, Dickie Bachmann, Kenneth Duremdes and Art dela Cruz joined forces with Ronjay Buenafe (Meralco), Ronald Tubid (Petron, Chris Tiu and Jervy Cruz (Rain or Shine) JC Intal (Barako Bull), and Sol Mercado (GlobalPort) for the Stalwarts.
