Thai import Jeng Bualee returns for another tour of duty with San Sebastian, leading another strong cast of reinforcements in the first conference of the Shakey’s V-League Season 10 that opens Sunday at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
The 5-foot-10 Bualee, a regular fixture in the league in recent years, will team up with Suzanne Roces, who is also returning to power the Lady Stags’ campaign in the season-opening tournament.
Bualee’s compatriot, Patcharee Sangmuang, who was once considered the best player in Thailand, will play for Letran along with Melissa Ogana.
Defending champion Ateneo has tapped Rachel Anne Daquis and Aeriel Patnongon to reinforce the core that won the tournament the last two years.
Patnongon played for Ateneo in the UAAP, while Daquis, one of the league’s most popular players, previously suited up for Far Eastern U and Army.
University of Santo Tomas has enlisted former stars Aiza Maizo and Rhea Dimaculangan while newcomer Arellano will have two former MVPs in its squad in Mary Jean Balse and Nerissa Bautista.
“With the league’s former, certified stars joining the current cream of the crop, this is going to be a real battle,” said Moying Martelino, chair of the organizing Sports Vision.
University of San Carlos has signed Abigail Praca and Regine Obinque as guest players. Two-time champion Adamson, National University and De La Salle-Dasmariñas have yet to name their guest players.
