Big Chill, Fruitas in key D-L duel today

BUOYED by a stunning win the last time out, Big Chill tries to strengthen its bid for a playoff spot when it battles Fruitas today in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at Ynares Sports Arena.

The Superchargers are gunning for their second straight win in the 2 p.m. clash that could have huge playoff repercussions for both teams.

A struggling EA Regen Med squad hopes to get back on track when it battles Cagayan Valley Rising Suns at 4 p.m.

EA Regen Med lost to Boracay Rum, 75-85, on April 1 then took another blow, 92-107, against Café France on April 4.

The top two teams of the elimination round will earn outright passage into the semifinals while the next four team will advance to the quarterfinals with the third and fourth placed teams earning a twice-to-beat advantage.

With a 3-2 record, Big Chill, which is coming off a 93-92 win over Cagayan Valley last Monday, is hoping to climb out a four-team tie at fourth spot with NLEX and the Rising Suns.

“Hopefully we could sustain the momentum [from that previous victory],” said coach Raymund Sison.
