KAYA couldn’t maximize the chance to trim the gap on the leaders, settling for a 1-1 draw with Pachanga Diliman Saturday night in the United Football League at Emperador Stadium in Taguig.
Eric Dagroh struck the equalizer for Kaya in the 21st minute after Marcus Lopez gave Pachanga the lead four minutes earlier.
It was Dagroh’s first goal of the season, even as Lopez, picked up during the transfer window, scored for the second straight match for last year’s second division champions.
The result kept Kaya in fourth spot with 16 points, just ahead of Pachanga on goal difference.
Kaya was looking for a third straight win and came into the game on the back of a 3-2 victory over defending champion Global last week.
But last season’s second placers were left stunned in the 17th minute when Guamanian international Ian Mariano found his compatriot Lopez for the opener.
Kaya’s response was swift with Logan McDaniel delivering a brilliant ball for Dagroh to finish.
