MANILA, Philippines – Big Chill jumped to an early lead and never looked back to blast Informatics 92-63 Monday in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao.
Terrence Romeo came off the bench to lead the Superchargers, who snapped a two-game slide to tie Cebuana Lhuillier and Cagayan Valley in seventh place with identical 4-4 records, with 18 points.
“We needed a win. Our next three games are must wins,” said Big Chill head coach Robert Sison.
Big Chill wasted no time as it zoomed to a commanding lead, 31-10, at the end of the first quarter as the Icons, who remain winless at 0-7, couldn’t recover.
The Superchargers, who also drew 11 points from Mar Villahermosa and 10 from Mac Montilla, shot a red-hot 63% from the field in the opening period while also holding the Icons to only three-of-14 shooting.
Ramon Mabayo paced Informatics with 17 points as Jeric Teng, the league’s top scorer averaging close to 22 points per game, was limited to just 13 points.
