Lady Bulldogs seek Shakey’s V-L sweep

NATIONAL University shoots for a Group B sweep in the Shakey’s V-League Season 10 today and coach Edjet Mabbayad expects towering talent Dindin Santiago to come out with another big game

“I’m really happy with her performance,” Mabbayad said of the 6-foot-2 Santiago, who emerged as one of the top five scorers early in the tournament. “I’m also satisfied with everyone’s effort, they’re really working as a team.”

Off to their best start in the league, the Lady Bulldogs go for a fourth straight victory against Perpetual Help at 2 p.m. at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

San Sebastian and Letran clash in the other game at 4 p.m. with the winner clinching a quarterfinal berth in Group A.

Only the top four teams from each group at the end of the single-round eliminations will advance to the quarterfinals.

San Sebastian remains favored with Thai import Jeng Bualee and Suzanne Roces even after the Lady Stags bowed to Ateneo and University of Santo Tomas.
Santiago, the league’s fourth-best scorer with 59 points, tries to lead the Lady Bulldogs’ bid to match Ateneo’s Group A sweep.
