MANILA, Philippines—Boracay Rum thwarted Cafe France, 55-50, Tuesday in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Blue Eagle Gym.
Toto Bandaying, Raymund Ilagan and Paolo Taha carried the Waves late in the third quarter where they erased a 29-35 deficit thanks to a 13-2 run.
“This win doesn’t assure us of anything but at least it keeps our hopes alive for a playoff berth,” said Boracay Rum coach Lawrence Chongson.
Boracay Rum nailed its second straight win and more importantly, the win put them in third-place tie with Cafe France at 5-3.
Bandaying led all scorers with 12 points while Mark Lopez had 11 for the Bakers.
