7,000 runners take to streets for ‘Outbreak Manila’
MANILA, Philippines— Seven thousand runners took to the streets of Bonifacio Global City last April 13 for the most thrilling Outbreak Manila yet. Outbreak Manila is a 5-kilometer zombie infested thrill run where participants race against zombies and obstacles before crossing the coveted finish line.
What makes this installment of Outbreak Manila the craziest of all? Angelo Cruz of Runtertainment Inc. says, “This night run has really got that apocalyptic feel. The team also went out to level-up on obstacles that challenged our participants, especially those who have taken on Outbreak Manila several times. Plus, the zombies are extra excited this time—enough to incite panic to even the most experienced thrill runner”.
Two weeks before the date, Outbreak Manila made a call for a fresh horde of zombies to fuel excitement. The zombie auditions were overwhelming, leaving Outbreak Manila with a full bench of applicants raring to get their hands on the life flags of participants. Despite the thrill, Outbreak Manila is a non-contact run where any form of physical contact is not allowed. The main objective is to finish the 5k route in the fastest time with at least one of three life flags intact.
