Australia training set for Bulldogs as part of UAAP buildup

MANILA, Philippines — National University is set to fly to Perth, Australia in May as part of their build-up for the coming UAAP season.

Head coach Eric Altamirano bared the Bulldogs’ training plans abroad this summer after their 71-60 victory over Jose Rizal University on Saturday.

According to Altamirano, NU, which barged into the final four in UAAP season 75,  is scheduled to play “a pocket tournament against semi-pro teams there.”

Defending champion Ateneo is also set to train abroad to gear up for the coming UAAP season.

The Bulldogs, though, still have five games left in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup before they could look forward to their trip.

“We have to take care of business here first. Next week will be our toughest assignment. We hope that we can sustain it and gain from it,” said Altamirano.

NU is tied with Arellano in group A with three wins each sans a loss.

NU faces Far Eastern University on May 1, Perpetual Help on May 3, Adamson on May 6, Arellano on May 11 and University of the Philippines on May 17.
