RALPH Montalbo upset defending champion Arvin Jay Millet to clinch the Yokohama Expert championship in the second leg of the Petronas Philippine Drag Racing Championship Southern Series held recently at Batangas Racing Circuit.
Determination and strategy keyed Montalbo’s comeback, prevailing with a time of 13.978 seconds.
Montalbo lost to Millet in the first round and dropped to the losers’ circle. After earning a wildcard seat, he thwarted Dondon Santos and Clark kickoff Expert winner Kevin Alonte in the semifinals to forge a titular showdown with Millet.
Jannery Millet and Vio Carlo Mandid shared the limelight with Montalbo, bagging the Sportsman and GT Radial Hotstreet titles, respectively. Steve Silva, Contributor
