PBA D-League: Rising Suns rout Waves behind Celada
MANILA, Philippines—Andrian Celada scored 25 points to lead Cagayan Valley to a 101-83 rout of Boracay Rum Tuesday in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao.
Celada shot a near-perfect eight-of-nine from the field – including five-of-six from three-point territory.
“Nagwork yung game plan namin. We prepared hard for them,” said Cagayan assistant coach Toto Dojillo. “Must-win na lahat ng games namin.”
Article continues after this advertisementThe Rising Suns, who tied the Waves in sixth place with a 5-4 record, got going early—building a 27-9 lead—which they never relinquished.
Chris Exciminiano added 22 points, half of which came in the fourth quarter that kept the Waves at bay.
Jeff Viernes had 22 points for Boracay Rum, which shot just 39.4% from the field.
