MANILA, Philippines — Big Chill banked on its hot shooting to blow out Cebuana Lhuillier Tuesday in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao.

Janus Lozada and Terrence Romeo shot the lights out with nine triples combined for the Superchargers, who rebounded from a tough loss to Jumbo Plastic last Thursday.

“I think yung intensity ng mga bata, yung mindset nila must win talaga,” said Big Chill coach Robert Sison, who believes his team still has a good chance to make the quarterfinals despite an up-and-down conference.

“We’ll just go all out. We won’t mind the other teams,” Sison added, whose squad improved to 5-5 with only a game left.

Lozada, who only missed three of his nine attempts from long range, topscored with 26 points while Romeo added 22.

The Gems, who also have a 5-5 record, missed the services of forward Gab Banal due to a hyperextended knee.

Big Chill got off to a stellar start with Romeo, who dished out nine assists, leading the way with 18 first half points.

Cebuana Lhuillier, who trailed by as much as 29, 20-49, pulled to within 14, 40-54, with 6:12 left in the third period but Big Chill answered back with Mac Montilla and Arvie Bringas giving their team a lift.

Bringas scored four straight points followed by five unanswered by Montilla, who tallied 14 points and five assists, to make it, 63-45.

Lozada ended any chance of another Cebuana comeback with three more triples in the fourth period — with the last stretching the lead back to 26, 89-63, with 3:38 remaining.
