Bulldogs heavy picks to notch No. 5 vs winless Altas today

NATIONAL University tries to extend its unbeaten start to five games today when it clashes with winless Perpetual while University of the East and Emilio Aguinaldo College hope to rebound from losses in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup.

Pushed to the limit by Far Eastern U before winning, 87-84, last Wednesday, the Bulldogs are heavy favorites  in the 12:45 p.m. duel with the Altas, who have lost their first two games.

The Warriors and Generals collide at 2:30 p.m. with both teams hoping to stay in contention in Group B.

The other game at 4:15 p.m. features NCAA rivals Letran and San Sebastian.

Tipped as among the favorites this season because of a souped-up lineup, the Warriors have endured a roller-coaster campaign so far.

The Warriors opened the tournament with a big win over Southwestern U, then dropped games against Ateneo and San Sebastian.

The Generals absorbed a 74-80 defeat from SWU last Wednesday. But EAC can take heart from the fact that Francis Munsayac found his rhythm from afar by hitting eight triples.

The Stags hope that Leo de Vera and CJ Perez can pick up from where they left off in the win over the Warriors. Letran, under coach Caloy Garcia, has unveiled a gem of a rookie in Rey Nambatac, who had 16 points against SWU.
