GLOBAL warmed up for its inaugural AFC President’s Cup campaign with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Green Archers Thursday night to rise to second in the United Football League at Emperador Stadium.
Goals from Sudanese striker Izzo El-Habbib and national team standouts Carli de Murga, Patrick Reichelt and Jeffrey Christiaens secured maximum points for the reigning UFL champions, who are now turning their attention to the third-tier continental club tournament.
“It’s good to fly out with a win before a big tournament,” said Global manager Palami, whose club will face Kyrgyzstan’s Dordoi Bishkek, KRL of Pakistan and Yeedzin of Bhutan in the tournament slated May 8 to 12 in Cebu.
Kaya and Nomads fought to a 1-1 stalemate in the first game.
