UST survives Adamson in V-League

MANILA, Philippines — University of Santo Tomas outlasted Adamson, 25-19, 25-20, 22-25, 15-25, 15-7, Sunday in the quarterfinals of the Shakey’s V-League Season 10 First Conference at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

The Tigresses squandered a 2-0 set lead before regaining their form in the deciding set.

Maika Ortiz and Aiza Maizo carried UST, which improved to 2-0, with 17 and 15 points respectively.

Pau Soriano led the Lady Falcons with a game-high 25 points while Heila Pineda added 12 points.

Adamson dropped to 2-1 in the standings.
