V-League: Lady Bulldogs easily beat Lady Patriots to nail first semis slot

MANILA, Philippines — National University overwhelmed La Salle-Dasmariñas, 25-13, 25-13, 25-21, to seize the first semifinals berth Tuesday in the Shakey’s V-League Season 10 First Conference at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

Skipper Dindin Santiago had 14 points while Myla Pablo added 13 as the Lady Bulldogs were just too much for the Lady Patriots to handle.

“Enjoy lang nila every game, stay humble lang,” said NU coach Edjet Mabbayad, currently the youngest coach in the tournament at 26. “Masayang masaya ako kasi yung morale at confidence ng mga players tumataas.”

“Hindi namin iniisip na lamang kami sa kalaban, lagi namin iniisip namin dehado kami para lagi namin ibigay best namin,” Mabbayad added.

Iari Yongco led La Salle with 10 points but again failed to draw help from her teammates as the lone Lady Patriot notching double-digit points.

Jaja Santiago, Dindin’s younger sister, added 11 points.
