MANILA, Philippines — Nosa Omorogbe led the injury-depleted Perpetual Help to an 84-59 drubbing of Jose Rizal University Wednesday in the FilOil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup at the Arena in San Juan.
Omorogbe pretty much did everything for the Altas, who were without their key players Femi Babayemi, Earl Thompson and Anthony Paulino due to injuries, with 28 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three blocks.
“Sabi ko sa kanila kulang tayo kaya kailangan magtrabaho kayo,” said head coach Aric del Rosario.
“I just got to do what I have to do to help the team win,” said Omorogbe.
Babayemi and Thompson were out due to back pains while Paulino suffered a torn ACL.
Justine Allano added 14 points and nine rebounds for the Altas, who logged their first win in four stints.
Perpetual Help banked on a big second quarter where it outscored JRU, 26-14, for a 46-31 halftime lead. The Altas never looked back.
The Heavy Bombers slid to 1-3.
