NLEX on top as Boracay nips Blackwater five

NLEX grabbed the solo lead even as Blackwater Sports blew its second try to nail the first semifinal berth in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup yesterday at Ynares Sports Arena.

The defending champion Road Warriors rolled past winless Informatics, 96-64, to wrest the top spot at 7-2, while Boracay Rum spoiled the Elite’s bid in a 96-89 upset win that dropped Blackwater Sports to second at 7-3.

Earlier, EA Regens dumped Jumbo Plastics, 105-79, and boosted its quarterfinal hopes by tying for fourth with Boracay Rum and idle Cagayan Valley at 6-4.

RR Garcia fired 18 points to tow the Road Warriors to their seventh straight triumph—just a win away from an outright semifinal berth.
