5th Isaa unwraps July 31 at Cuneta Astrodome

SEVEN colleges and universities will fight for honors in the 5th Inter-Scholastic Athletic Association which unwraps July 31 at Cuneta Astrodome.

This year’s theme is High Five for Season 5. Isaa president Ruel dela Rosa of the Manila Tytana College said Senator Juan Edgardo Angara will be the guest speaker during the colorful opening ceremonies.

‘‘The Isaa is honored to have Senator Sonny Angara as its guest speaker. He is an inspiration to student-athletes,” said Dela Rosa.

Three sports—men’s basketball and women’s and men’s volleyball are on tap this semester.

FEATURED STORIES

Member schools are Feati, La Consolacion-Manila, Manila Adventist Medical Center and Colleges, PWU, St. Dominic College of Asia, Philippine Merchant Marine School and Manila Tytana College.

PMMS starts its defense of the basketball title against rival La Consolacion at 1 p.m. MTC tackles St. Dominic at 10 a.m., followed by the 11:30 a.m. clash between Feati and PWU.

Other officials of Isaa are Melanie Florentino (vice-president), Gregorio Magbalon (secretary), Antonio S. Giron (treasurer), Crispulo Onrubia (auditor) and Raul Santos (PRO).  Lawyer Jose Yayen and Hector Estidola are board members.
