Monfort shines anew as Barako Bull trips Ginebra
MANILA, Philippines — Barako Bull endured a fourth quarter rally of Ginebra for a 104-91 win on Friday night in the 2013 PBA Governors’ Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Energy controlled the pace from the get-go but ran into a few bumps late in the game as the determined Kings trimmed the lead from 18 to seven in just a few minutes.

“Great game by Barako Bull. We deserved to win. We controlled the game for 40 minutes of the game, Ginebra maybe eight minutes in the fourth quarter,” said Toroman after the game.
Diminutive rookie Emman Monfort shone anew for Barako Bull, unleashing five straight points to restore a double-digit lead, 94-80, with five minutes left to play. He finished with 25 points.
Article continues after this advertisementImport Michael Singletary finished with 38 points and 17 rebounds for the Energy, which is tied with Petron at top spot with 3-1.
Dior Lowhorn, meanwhile, had 30 points for Ginebra, which managed to pull within 80-87 on an 11-0 run capped by nifty and-oe player from LA Tenorio.
Tenorio, though, only had four points on a lone field goal, four rebounds and four assists.
The Kings dropped their second assignment of the conference and lost beanpole Japeth Aguilar to a possible Medial collateral ligament early in the game.
