Angelo Que and Antonio Lascuña have one thing going for them when the $750,000 Resorts World Masters tees off next month —the veritable homecourt edge.

With the Asian Tour tournament to be played at the Masters layout of  Manila Southwoods in Laguna, Que and Lascuña are installed as the heavy local favorites owing to their vast knowledge of the world-class layout.

The duo, who will represent the Philippines in the World Cup of Golf later in the year, are members of the exclusive course, having represented Southwoods in big local tournament since their amateur days.

“It has been a while since we had an Asian Tour event at Manila Southwoods,” said Que. “I like that course and I practice there a lot. Hopefully it’ll be a good week for us Filipinos.”

Lascuña, in fact, repeated as champion of the ICTSI Southwoods leg last month, conquering the adjacent Legends layout with a superb 21-under total. When the event was played last year, the Masters was the venue, and Lascuña tallied a 14-under total to handily win.

“I’ll be playing on my home course and it’s great that I will have the opportunity to play in such an important event before I head over to the World Cup,” said Lascuña.

He enjoyed his best-ever season on the Asian Tour last year when he finished in the top-five on three occasions and ended the year in a career high of 12th  place in the Order of Merit.
