UAAP juniors: UE ahead in general championship race

MANILA, Philippines — University of the East took the lead in general championship race in the juniors’ division of UAAP season 76 after the first semester.

The Junior Warriors amassed 67 points, boosted by victories in taekwondo, table tennis and girls swimming, to set the pace.

Defending overall champion University of Santo Tomas and Ateneo, meanwhile, are joint in second place with identical 56 points.

A championship is worth 15 points, second place 12, third 10 points, fourth eighth points, fifth six points, sixth four points, seventh two points and eighth one point.

FEATURED STORIES

UST has not won any championship in the first sem, but were second placers in girls’ swimming, and third in boys’ swimming, table tennis, taekwondo and judo.

The Blue Eaglets, on the other hand, won in boys’ swimming and judo, and had a runner-up finish in basketball.

La Salle-Zobel is in fourth place with 54 points, followed by National University (27), Far Eastern University-Diliman (22), University of the Philippines Integrated School (18) and Adamson University (7).
