Shakey’s hosts 1st V-League All-Star
SHAKEY’S V-League caps its 10th anniversary celebration with the first All-Star Weekend on Nov. 16 and 17 at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
Rachel Ann Daquis and Suzanne Roces banner Team Shakey’s while Alyssa Valdez and Charo Soriano head Team Smart as the two squads field not only the best but also the players voted by fans as the most popular the past decade.
“This is our way of giving back to the fans who have supported the league through all these years,” said Moying Martelino, chair of league organizer Sports Vision.

“We believe that it’s about time that we hold an All-Star Weekend,” said Sports Vision president Ricky Palou. “And everybody was in agreement that we should have a volley weekend where fans and volley stars get together.”
“Ten years is a long time,” said Shakey’s executive vice president and chief operating officer Vic Gregorio. “We went into this hoping to make an impact and further develop volleyball in the Philippines. We’re proud and happy we’ve seen great progress in volleyball.”
