PLDT lady tossers eye 3rd victory

ENDS meet as unbeaten league-leader PLDT collides with winless Petron, even as Cignal and Cagayan clash to improve their standings in the Philippine Super Liga Volleyball Grand Prix at Ynares Arena in Pasig.

The Speed Boosters, finding their strides with a pair of top-tier American imports, are unbeaten after two games and are overwhelming favorites against the Blaze Spikers who are struggling to find their footing with three defeats in women’s event so far.

The HD Spikers and the Lady Rising Suns, both sporting 2-1 records, meet at 2 p.m., eyeing to join solo second placer TM Philippine Army.

PLDT MyDSL tackles Maybank in a bid to bolster its ranking in the later rounds in the lone men’s division match at 6 p.m.

Suddenly on the top of the heap, PLDT will again flash dynamic setter Kaylee Manns and towering attacker Savannah Noyes, who have captured the crowd’s fancy because of their deft and quickness.

“Now instead of her (Manns) adjusting to us, we decided that we work around her style of play.  What she’s doing is good,” said PLDT coach Roger Gorayeb.
