MANILA, Philippines – The camp of Manny Pacquiao will file a motion to lift the freeze order on the boxer’s bank account, one of his legal counsels said Wednesday.

In an interview with INQUIRER Radio 990AM, lawyer Tranquil Salvador explained that Pacquiao had submitted documents that the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has been asking.  However, the revenue agency declined to accept the documents.

“We already submitted the necessary documents, but the BIR said those were not acceptable. We have processes of authentication for them to verify if they want to,” Salvador said.

The lawyer insisted that Pacquiao has been paying his income tax annually and paid a total of P8-million on Value Added Tax.

“What they are (BIR) looking into is only from 2008-2009 and yearly Pacquiao has been submitting his income tax returns,” Salvador said.
