Celtic crushes Hearts 7-0 in Scottish Cup
GLASGOW, Scotland – Celtic crushed Hearts 7-0 to advance to the fifth round of the Scottish Cup on Sunday after being eliminated from European competition earlier this week.
Celtic recovered from its Champions League loss to AC Milan in style and led 5-0 at halftime after a Kris Commons brace and goals from Scott Brown, Joe Ledley and Mikael Lustig.
Neil Lennon’s team continued its dominance after the interval as Commons completed a hat trick from the penalty spot and Brown scored again in the 74th minute with a volley.
Lennon said “I think against anyone today, the way the players played, somebody would’ve taken a beating and it just happened to be Hearts.”
