Powerade selects JV Casio as first overall pick in 2011 PBA Draft
MANILA—Powerade, raring to erase its stigma as a cellar-dweller, selected Smart Gilas mainstay JVee Casio as the first overall pick Sunday in the 2011 PBA Draft at the Robinsons Mall in Ermita, Manila.
Casio, the five-foot-10 marksman, bolstered his stock with a stellar showing with the Nationals in the recently concluded William Jones Cup.
“I still can’t believe it. It’s been a dream for me to play in the PBA,” said Casio.
The Tigers will also pick fourth in the first round
