Philippine aces bag 4 Taipei golds
National tracksters bagged four gold medals in the 2011 Asian Intercities Athletics meet held over the weekend at the Taipei Stadium in Taiwan.
Archand Christian Bagsit, a 19-year-old find from Letran, won the 400-meter run in 48.42 seconds, edging seasoned sprinter Julius Nieras (48.54) for the gold.
Junrey Bano duplicated Bagsit’s golden finish with a victory in the men’s 400m hurdles in 52.26 while leading the country to another gold in the 4x400m relay (3:11.57).

Julius Sermona placed second in the 5,000m run with a time of 14:57.35 and Rosie Villarito took the javelin bronze with a heave of 47.69m.
