MANILA, Philippines—They played through pain and burden during the aftermath of Super Typhoon “Yolanda,” now the footballers of Global F.C. has been released from the yoke within.

Global F.C., which has players and staff mostly from hard-hit Tacloban, has undergone a trauma release exercise (TRE) on Friday with TRE experts Michelle Beck and Louie Angsico from Human Capital Development conducting the session for the squad Friday at the Turf in Bonifacio Global City.

Beck and Angsico were part of the team that conducted TRE sessions in Tacloban to alleviate the stress and trauma from the devastation wrought by “Yolanda.”

Aside from the emotional burdens, the club wanted to reduce the stress from the grind of playing football for a living.

“It’s like I released all my stress, my muscle (stress), because I had a game yesterday and my muscles were tightening up, especially my legs,” Misagh Bahadoran, who plays forward for the club, said. “I just spent 10 or 20 minutes to myself, thinking of nothing, just relaxing my body.”
