PBA D-League: Bakers toast Oilers in Foundation Cup opener
MANILA, Philippines — Cafe France had five players in double-digit scoring to hammer out a 90-73 drubbing of Derulo Accelero at the start of the 2014 PBA D-League Foundation Cup Monday at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
Big men Jam Cortes and Rodrigue Ebondo combined for 35 points while guards Rocky Acidre and Ryan Gallardo added 13 and 11 points, respectively, for the Bakers.
Article continues after this advertisementHead coach Egay Macaraya was pleased with his team’s chemistry on the floor with Cafe France moving the ball well and finding the open man.
The Oilers, on the other hand, were sloppy with the ball and committed 23 errors which translated to 25 turnover points for the Bakers, who pulled away for good late in the third quarter.
Mac Montilla added 11 points to go along with four rebounds and four assists off-the-bench.
