Altas-Team PH captures 3 Asia cheerleading golds
Flashing world-class form, Altas Team Pilipinas bagged three golds and a silver in the Asia Cheerleading Invitational Championship at D’ Marquee in downtown Singapore recently.
Made up of members of reigning NCAA titlist Perpetual Help Perps Squad, the Altas impressed the judges with their form and execution of tough routines to grab the spotlight in the competition that lured 21 countries.
Article continues after this advertisementThe Altas Perps Team-Philippines came out on top in the coed premier, coed elite and coed group stunts categories, before collecting the silver in partner stunts.
The impressive haul gave the Altas the distinction as the best performing school in the annual event organized by the International Cheer Union.
The Las Piñas City-based Perps Squad of multititled coach Ruf Van Rosario tallied 248 points to best Chinese-Taipei’s Asia Pacific Institute of Creativity and Monster. Among the countries that participated in the event were Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
Article continues after this advertisementThe victory highlighted another productive season for the Perps Squads, which won their fifth straight NCAA title early last month. It was also the school’s eighth title in the competition’s nine years.
