Rain delays second day at French Open

PARIS — Rain delayed the start of the second day of action at the French Open on Monday.

Play was due to get under way at 0900GMT (1100 local time) but organizers pushed back the start to 1000GMT (1200 local) at the earliest.

Defending champion Rafael Nadal was due to start his bid for a ninth title against US veteran Robby Ginepri on the Suzanne Lenglen court.
