Gadi, Albo lead badminton rankings

ANTONINO Benjamin Gadi, Airah Nicole Albo and the rest of the national badminton squad led the latest Philippine National Ranking System after their impressive showing in different  tournaments sanctioned by the Philippine Badminton Association.

Based on the results of the 7th Prima Pasta championship, 2014 Philippine National Games and the 2014 FDG Cup, Gadi won the most titles and accumulated a leading 21720 points to keep the men’s singles No. 1 ranking.

He was followed by fellow national Michael Kevin Cudiamat with 17820 points in the men’s singles. Rabie Jayson Oba-ob settled for third place with 16270 and junior standout Ros Leenard Pedrosa landed fourth with 15000.

Albo gained the No. 1 spot in women’s singles with 19350 points.

Pauline Tan took second place with 14970 and Sarah Joy Barredo wpalced third with 14720 points.

Philip Joper Escueta and Ronel Estanislao led the men’s doubles ranking after tallying 22950 points, towing the duo of Peter Gabriel Magnaye and Paul Vivas with 18900. Paul John Pantig and Carlos Cayanan had 18600 for third place.

In the women’s doubles, Jessie Francisco and Eleanor Christine Inlayo claimed the No. 1 slot with 21450 points.

In the mixed doubles ranking, Peter Gabriel Magnaye and Aires Amor Montilla secured top spot with 23250 points.
