Rams capture PCCL Visayas reg’l crown

University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos subdued Western Leyte College, 75-68, recently to capture the Champions League (PCCL) Visayas Islands regional games at Macias gym in Dumaguete City.

The UNO-R Rams advance to the Vis-Min qualifying games in Cebu where they will go up against the champion of the Mindanao regional games, University of Visayas and University of San Jose-Recoletos which placed third and fourth, respectively, in the Cesafi.

In the battle for third place, John B. Lacson College Foundation of Iloilo  beat Asian College of Dumaguete, 69-68.

The other participating teams included Philippine Maritime Institute of Bohol and Negros Oriental State U.

Meanwhile, the Mindanao regional games are set Oct. 7 to 9 in Cagayan de Oro City. Participating teams are from Cagayan de Oro, Davao City, General Santos City, Zamboanga and Northern Mindanao.

The South Luzon-Bicol regional games will be held at J.C. Lobredo Coliseum, Naga City, on Nov. 3-4 with top teams from Sorsogon, Quezon province, Naga, Tabaco, Batangas, Cavite and Laguna taking part.

The North-Central Luzon regional games are set on Nov. 3 to 5 at Lyceum North Western University Gym, Dagupan City.
