Arellano, St. Benilde booters grab share of NCAA top spot
ARELLANO University and College of St. Benilde routed their respective foes to snatch a share of the lead from three-peat champion San Beda in the 90th NCAA football competition at Rizal Memorial Stadium yesterday.
The Chiefs bamboozled the Perpetual Help Altas, 8-0, while the Blazers overwhelmed the Emilio Aguinaldo Generals, 5-0, to overtake the Lions from the top with 10 match points apiece.
Idle San Beda, seeking to extend its reign to a fourth season, fell from first to second with nine points to show after its Monday match with Lyceum was rescheduled to Dec. 18 due to Tropical Storm “Ruby.”
